Janet E. Moon, Principal

Janet E. Moon practices Immigration and Naturalization law exclusively. She has teamed up with veteran practitioner Diane R. Chappell-Daly to form a team of lawyers with over 20 years’ experience practicing Immigration law in central New York and beyond. Janet offers clients responsive service and careful legal analysis and advice.

Janet concentrates her practice in the areas of family based green card applications and issues, citizenship and naturalization, and employment or investment based visas and green card applications. Janet can help put a client’s mind at ease by guiding them through every step of their immigration process, from preparing forms and evaluating evidence to responding to client questions and advising on the process.

Janet is a native of Connecticut and attended Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. She and her husband moved to the Syracuse area when Janet attend Syracuse University College of Law and the Maxwell School. Since then, they have settled in the Central New York region and made it their home where they enjoy playing board games and walking their dog,Sailor.

Diane R. Chappell-Daly, Of Counsel

Diane R. Chappell-Daly  has been practicing in the area of immigration law since 1994. For over 20 years she has been helping clients apply for visas and green cards based on family and employment  relationships.  She also helps clients apply for naturalization, and proof of US citizenship. In 2015 she  expanded her practice to include Janet Moon, in what is now the Moon Law Office LLC. She and Janet work together as a team in providing legal services in the area of immigration law to central New York and beyond.

Ms. Chappell-Daly serves as a resource to local refugee, literacy, and faith-based groups. She volunteers at a legal clinic  at Vera House – a local resource for victims of domestic violence – and at immigration clinics sponsored by the Volunteer Lawyers Project and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. Upon request, she is available to comment and provide educational presentations on immigration issues.

Jakia S. Durham, Office Manager

Jakia S. Durham joined the Moon Law Office LLC, in November 2015 as an Office Manager.  Ms. Durham is a Native of Syracuse and grew up in Washington DC. She is an On Point for College and Say Yes to Education Scholar. She graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree at Syracuse University College of Arts and Sciences.

Prior to working at Moon Law Office, Jakia worked as a case manager for social security cases in the pre-trial term and has also worked as a control center specialist, processing burglary, fire and medical alarms.  Jakia brings a solid foundation in customer service to our team.
