DACA- Three-Year Approval Alert

If you received a Three-Year DACA work permit card from USCIS that was issued, or mailed, after February 16, 2015, read this alert and follow the directions carefully. The card must be returned by July 30, 2015. If it is not returned, you could lose your DACA approval and your work permit.

Did You Receive a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) 3-Year Work Permit after February 16, 2015?

You should have received a letter telling you to return it. If so, you need to get it back to USCIS.
Immediately. They need that work permit back by July 30, 2015.

Due to a lawsuit, USCIS is required to collect any 3-year work permits issued or mailed after February 16, 2015.

They've already sent letters, they're calling people and even plan on doing home visits this week and next to collect the cards.

You should get a 2-year work permit in the mail to replace your 3-year card.
But if you received a 3-year work permit mailed by USCIS after February 16, 2015,
even if it was issued before that date, and you don't turn it in by July 30, 2015,
you could lose your DACA status and your work permit entirely.

So give it back - at a USCIS field office or to the USCIS representative who comes to get it.

If you are unsure whether you must return your work permit, call USCIS at 1-800-375-5283 and select option 8.

USCIS is taking unusual steps to retrieve these 3-year work permits; if you are confused about what to do, talk to your lawyer, find a lawyer at http://www.ailalawyer.org or http://www.immigrationlawhelp.org, or go to AILA's website for more information.
